Lazy River or Speeding Train?

Sometimes life is like being on a lazy riverPeace and tranquility fill your senses like a soothing balm. You drift in an overfilled inner tube without a care in the world. You know the water will carry you where you need to be in due time. You can breathe easily and relax as you are carried along with the current. It’s a good life, and everything is as it should be.

But then there are other times when life is like being on a speeding freight train. The cars are filled to the brim with stuff that has to be taken care of. The engine barrels down the track at break neck speeds with endless track spread out before you. You can feel the wind rushing at you whipping your hair all about your face. You struggle to take a breath of precious air since the air pressure is increased.

Which one can you relate to? Perhaps a little of both?

Lately, I’ve felt like the latter. My life moves at break neck speeds. I’m constantly on the go and feel like I’m teetering on the edge of falling off the train. Oh, I hold it together and seem to find my moments of inner tube time but wow, what a rush!

I have been so busy that blogging has been the last thing to get done.

Today I realized that I have to embrace the times when I’m speeding down the tracks of life as well as the slow meandering of the water. It’s the ebb and flow of life. As long as I keep moving, I will reach the finish line.

So today, if you feel like life is traveling at break neck speeds, enjoy the ride! And if your life is crawling by and tranquility rules the day, close your eyes and soak it all in!
