Inspiration is one of those elusive things that can’t be manufactured. I have been in a bit of a writing slump lately and no matter how hard I searched for inspiration I have come up lacking. Perhaps my life is so filled with activity and busyness that I have not taken the time to just listen to the wind blow in the trees and receive inspiration from the true source.  The source of all life is Jesus as well as all inspiration.

There have been times in my life when I  found inspiration in the busy. A lightning bolt of inspired ideas falling on me miraculously from above in the midst of my chaos.  Other times have been in silent solitude when the light of creativity turned on and my words and actions were inspired. Just as God moves in different ways at different times He sends inspiration in different ways at different times.

It varies from person to person as well as moment by moment.  Life is full of unexpected twists and turns so too inspiration takes a very unpredictable path through our lives.

While I struggle with inspiration or the lack thereof… I’d love to hear from you, my readers. How do you find inspiration? What is your secret when you are stuck and need that bolt of creative energy?

In the meantime… I will be walking around my pond, praying fervently, watching my chickens, being a taxi for my kids and altogether embracing the busyness of my life while I wait for inspiration to strike and the keys of my keyboard will come to life once again!
